New York, NY – BritBox, the streaming service from BBC Studios & ITV offering the largest collection of British television in North America, will present a Red Dwarf: The Promised Land panel during San Diego Comic Con’s ComicCon@Home event. The panel will be available on Comic Con’s Youtube channel  date and time to be announced and will include Chris Barrie (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider),

Craig Charles (Coronation Street), Robert Llewellyn (MI: High), and creator/director Doug Naylor (Spitting Image) moderated by Kyle Anderson from The Nerdist. Red Dwarf: The Promised Land launches exclusively on BritBox in North America on July 26Th.

When it first aired in 1988, Red Dwarf became an instant sci-fi, cult comedy favorite. Red Dwarf: The Promised Land reunites the original cast in the longest single episode of the series. Written and directed by Naylor, it was recorded in front of a live studio audience at Pinewood Studios UK.

“It is a real treat to see the original cast together again, bringing the fans something special,” said

BritBox President Soumya Sriraman. “San Diego Comic Con is the best of the best when it comes to Cons, so it’s only fitting to share this experience with them. I’m grateful BritBox can be a part of entertaining our community at home in innovative ways.”

Red Dwarf: The Promised Land begins three million years ago, when David Lister (Craig Charles) was put in suspended animation for smuggling his pregnant cat aboard the mining ship Red Dwarf. While Lister remained in stasis, a radiation leak killed the crew – but not his cat. Safely sealed in the hold, his cat’s litter bred, evolving over millions of years into humanoid form. They now roam deep space in a fleet of their own. In this special, Lister, Rimmer (Chris Barrie), Cat (Danny John-Jules) and Kryten (Robert Llewellyn) meet three of these cats who worship Lister as their God. Lister vows to help them flee from Rodon, a ruthless feral cat and self-declared Cat King.
